چکیده
Three-dimensional (3D) topological insulator (TI) has emerged as a unique state of quantum matter and generated enormous interests in condensed physics. The surfaces 3D TI consist massless Dirac cone, which is characterized by the Z 2 invariant. Introduction magnetism on surface essential to realize anomalous Hall effect other novel magneto-electric phenomena. Here, using combination first-principles calculations, magneto-transport angle-resolved photoemission spectroscopy (ARPES), we study electronic properties gadolinium (Gd)-doped Sb Te 3 . Our shows that Gd doped spin-orbit-induced bulk band-gap material, whose single state. results provide new platform investigate interactions between dilute topology magnetic materials.

متن کاملProximity effect in graphene-topological-insulator heterostructures.
We formulate a continuum model to study the low-energy electronic structure of heterostructures formed by graphene on a strong three-dimensional topological insulator (TI) for the cases of both commensurate and incommensurate stacking. The incommensurability can be due to a twist angle between graphene and the TI surface or a lattice mismatch between the two systems. We find that the proximity ...
متن کاملDirect measurement of proximity-induced magnetism at the interface between a topological insulator and a ferromagnet
When a topological insulator (TI) is in contact with a ferromagnet, both time-reversal and inversion symmetries are broken at the interface. An energy gap is formed at the TI surface, and its electrons gain a net magnetic moment through short-range exchange interactions. Magnetic TIs can host various exotic quantum phenomena, such as massive Dirac fermions, Majorana fermions, the quantum anomal...
متن کاملA natural topological insulator.
The earth's crust and outer space are rich sources of technologically relevant materials which have found application in a wide range of fields. Well-established examples are diamond, one of the hardest known materials, or graphite as a suitable precursor of graphene. The ongoing drive to discover novel materials useful for (opto)electronic applications has recently drawn strong attention to to...
